My name is Wout Sanders. Most of my painting is done in the Netherlands but the light and colours of the Mediterranean, especially of Greece are my main source of inspiration.

For the last 30 years I have been painting with various sorts of paint (oil, acrylics, watercolours), using different techniques and styles. Subjects in my work are often nature in its widest range, women as mother-earth figures, or as symbols of creativity, fertility and seduction. There are periods I enter into a more abstract kind of work and there are periods I paint on a more practical level doing i.e. floor decoration. Colour plays a large role in my work as it gives a never ending scale of possibilities.
